The Firm has focused on nine separate practice areas, including litigation, personal injury and worker's compensation, criminal defense, real estate and landlord-tenant disputes, employment and workplace disputes and litigation, family law, juvenile and special education law, formation and representation of business entities, and our estates & probate administration practice areas.
Our offices include the entire second floor of 11 Belden Avenue in Norwalk, Connecticut. We are next door to the Superior Court building in Norwalk, and within a short drive of the Superior Courthouses in Stamford and Bridgeport. Our attorneys regularly appear in all jurisdictions in Connecticut, including the United States District Court facilities in Bridgeport, Hartford, and New Haven and Waterbury.

It is this commitment that our founder brought with him to the practice of law in 1951, and that guides the Firm today in its commitment to its clients.

Following in his father's footsteps, Charles Harris has shown great dedication to the community, his clients and to the practice of law. After working for several large law firms in Washington, D.C., Charles was graduated from American University, the Washington College of Law in 1990. He completed his undergraduate studies at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. His interests include the Firm's litigation and personal injury practice, employment litigation, worker's compensation, family litigation and criminal defense work. He regularly appears in all state and federal courts in Connecticut.
Charles is a Norwalk native, and returned to Connecticut in 1991 after completing law school in order to join the Firm's practice. He established the Firm's involvement and commitment to the School to Career program which exposes qualified high school students to the practice of law. Charles has also established an active internship program for eligible college students. Many of the students that have been exposed to the Firm through these programs have become full-time, permanent support staff at Harris & Harris.
Charles is a member of the Stamford/Norwalk Regional Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Trial Lawyers Association. Attorney Harris is admitted to practice before the Connecticut Superior Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Annemette Schmid graduated from Quinnipiac College School of Law in 2001, where she received the Service to the Community Award, and was active in the Volunteer Income Tax Asssistance program, the Environmental Law Society, the Tax Law Society, the Women's Law Society and the Juvenile and Family Law Society. Annemette's interests include civil litigation, personal injury, criminal defense, education law, special education matters, and family law. She is a member of the Stamford/Norwalk Regional Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Trial Lawyers Association. Annemette brings her practical experience in family law, housing, and criminal matters, as well as a very strong intellect and advocacy skills to the Firm.
